PhotoCut Studio

Add a blue background to a photo

Free tool · No sign-up · Your image is never uploaded

A blue background has two very different uses: the light blue many IDs and passport photos ask for, and the corporate blue that signals trust and professionalism on profiles and badges. This tool removes the original background and replaces it with the blue you choose, free, and your photo never leaves the browser.

Two blues, two uses

Important if it's for a document

Light blue is common for identity photos, but each agency has its own rule: some require white, others blue, with exact head proportions, eye position and print quality. Many official processes also require the photo to be taken at an approved booth. Use this tool for non-official uses (profiles, internal badges, forms) or to prepare a base, and always verify the official requirement before submitting the photo for a document.

Step by step

  1. Open the photo in the editor.
  2. Use the AI Cutout and refine hair and edges with the brushes.
  3. In Export, pick Color mode and set the blue HEX (e.g. #c9e0f2 or #2f5fd0).
  4. Center the face with the scale control and export as JPG or PNG.
