◑ PhotoCut Studio

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 12, 2026

The essentials

Your images are never uploaded to any server. All of PhotoCut Studio's processing — background removal, the segmentation AI and icon generation — happens entirely in your browser, on your own device. There is no backend that receives, stores or analyzes your photos.

Data controller

What data is processed, and where

Images

They are processed locally on your device using WebAssembly and onnxruntime-web. They never leave your browser at any point.

Local storage

We only keep usage preferences in your browser's localStorage: the language you chose and whether you have already seen the introduction. The application also caches its own files (and the AI model) so it can work offline. None of this reaches us, and you can delete it at any time from your browser settings.

Error telemetry (optional)

Some versions of the site may send technical error reports (the error message, stack trace and the browser's user-agent) to a monitoring service, with a cap on the number of reports per session. These reports never include images or any user content.

Typefaces

Typefaces are served from our own domain; your browser does not contact Google Fonts or any other third party to display them.

Usage analytics

To understand how many people use the tool we may use Google Analytics, which records aggregated browsing data (page views, device type, approximate country) with the IP address anonymized. It is not linked to your identity or to your images. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom you will see a consent notice before it is activated, and you can decline it.

Advertising

The site may show a discreet ad to support the project. Depending on the network active at any given time:

Advertising never affects how your images are handled, which remains 100% local.

Donations and downloads

The donation buttons link to Ko-fi, which has its own privacy policy. Downloads of the desktop app are served from GitHub Releases, subject to GitHub's privacy policy.

Your rights

Since we process almost no personal data, there is little to request: we have no user accounts and no databases holding your information. For any privacy question, write to gab.maglia@gmail.com and we will reply as soon as possible. If you are in the EU, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If anything relevant changes (for example, the active advertising network), we will update this page and the date in the header.
